Two things. One is a comic. The other is not.

Here's a couple things I did recently. The first is a portrait of a friend. His name is Steve Campos and he's a wizard in After Effects.

The second is a comic that I did. Hopefully I'll do more in the future:

Pikmin Battle! - For Fangamer VS. Attract Mode Gallery

Here's a piece that I've worked on during the past week for the Fangamer VS. Attract Mode art gallery, which will be at PAX 2012 in Seattle. It's a video game themed gallery, and I chose to do Pikmin.

I've always liked imagining the Pikmin having epic battles filled with violence and tragedy, unseen to the player's eye.

Anyway, here it is. I hope you like it.

Fangamer Packing Slips Pt. 1

Over the past month or so, I've been working on these packing slips for a company called Fangamer. Fangamer is a small business owned and run by some friends of mine in Tucson, Arizona. They basically design and sell merchandise based on famous video games. They've got some really great, well-designed stuff, so check them out.

Anyway, for every order they ship, they include a packing slip, which is a hand-drawn, personalized piece of art related to whichever video game the merchandise is based on. The packing slips are all drawn by different artists, and I decided I wanted to give it a shot, since I hardly ever make finished pieces without the help of a computer.

Here's a few of the packing slips I did for them, sketched in pencil, then inked and colored using copic markers. I've never used copic markers before, so it's been pretty challenging. But fun.

Figure Drawings

Figure drawings! These were all done, I think, during the month of April. The figure drawing models in Burbank are really solid.

Fanime 2012

I hung out in front of and in the halls of Fanime 2012 a couple weeks ago and sketched all day. There's a wide variety of people dressed in costume. Some badly, some really well. I love it. Here are some of the sketches digitalized:

Corgi Icon

Here's something I made for a friend's business card.

This is what I started with, but when I brought down to tiny business card size it didn't read clearly enough.

So I had to simplify and clarify and thickify. I also made little corgi ride on a filmstrip escalator thing.

Here's the final:

Here's something I made for a poster a couple weeks ago.

Fashion

Saw this little six year old who was completely clueless when it came to fashion. Some people just can't be helped.

Bardance

This was a couple dancing at a bar I went to. It seemed like quite the workout.
